I am a secondary math specialist for a large public Texas school district. I work with schools to implement PLCs, incorporate strategies in the classroom, and write curriculum for our district. I taught high school math (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra II) for seven years in Texas before becoming a math specialist. I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelors in Arts in mathematics from Trinity University. In 2010, I graduated with my Masters in Arts in teaching also from Trinity. In the summer of 2013, I traveled on a Fulbright scholarship to Germany and learned a lot about curriculum, diversity, and differentiation. I love helping students make connections to what they’re learning and finding authentic ways to explore math concepts. I also love Pinteresting and making Pinterest ideas come alive in the math classroom. When I’m not teaching, you may find me hanging out with my wonderful husband who is a teacher and coach, at one of his basketball games, playing with our two pups, with my loving friends and family, or making cake pops.
